Frequently Asked Questions

Q:  What are the benefits of having a Caregiver?
A:  The benefits to building a relationship with a Trusted Care caregiver are many, including:

  • Companionship, sharing laughs and life stories, that goes beyond a mere “sitter”
  • Performance of routine household tasks that may be difficult for the resident, such as laundry and light household cleaning
  • Specialized non-medical care, including assistance with bathing, personal hygiene needs and medication reminders

Q:  How much does it cost to have a Caregiver in the home?
A:  The fee for a caregiver varies based on the amount of time you feel works best for the resident’s needs; see our detailed fee schedule for details.

Q:  How are your Caregivers screened, and what accreditations are they required to have?
A:  All caregivers at Trusted Care undergo an extensive interview process, and must be certified either as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or a Home Health Aide (HHA).  All prospective caregivers must: provide solid professional references; meet all competency requirements; have a criminal background check performed; and have at least three (3) years of previous caregiver experience.

Q:  What happens if I don’t (or my loved one doesn’t) get along with our assigned Caregiver?  Can we have another Caregiver instead?
A:  Our caregivers, in addition to their requirements for the position, are caring, compassionate people who truly enjoy what they do.  As Trusted Care is a part of the Home Health Registry, we have a relationship with many caregivers and to ensure a great caregiver-client relationship from the start we offer our clients the option of meeting and interviewing caregivers prior to service beginning.  In the rare instance where there may be a personality disconnect between the caregiver and the client, Trusted Care is pleased to introduce another caregiver to the household.

Q:  Does the Caregiver have to come to a home, or can they assist me (my loved one) anywhere else?
A:  Trusted Care knows that our clients may be living independently in their own home, or with loved ones, and our services are available for these situations.  But we also know that visits to a hospital or rehabilitation facility after an illness or injury may be necessary, and are proud to be able to offer our services in hospitals, assisted living facilities and nursing homes.  We want our clients to receive the additional one-on-one care that many institutions simply do not provide.

Q:  If no one is going to be home besides the person in need, how can we ensure they will still be able to participate in daily activities?
A:   Part of the range of services our caregivers perform includes daily life activities such as meal preparation, pet care, shopping / errands, and accompaniment to both medical appointments and community events.  Trusted Care wants to give each client the range of assistance desired to enable the opportunity to be able to continue living at home for as long as possible, and to allow our clients the freedom to actively and fully participate in life.

Q:  What is your service area?
A:  Trusted Care, based in Trevose, PA, services clients and their loved ones in their homes or healthcare facilities.
